Ingredient Spotlight: Ente Plums

Welcome to the organic orchards in Lot-et-Garonne, southwestern France. Here is where all the magic begins. The unique climate and limestone soil are what makes this corner of southwest France perfect for growing Ente plums, the delicate plum variety that requires a lot of sunshine and gave birth to our Ex Prūnīs Antioxidant Treatment Oil.

The production takes place in the secluded area subjected to a strict set of rules and their rigorous application, which is why the European Union awarded the region with IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) back in 2002. This highest distinction guarantees that famed Agen prunes can only be sourced from locally grown Ente plum orchards.

Strict traceability and independent agency check the link from the orchard to the producer to ensure the authenticity of these fruits and their origins, guaranteeing, a unique and extraordinary quality that cannot be matched by any other plum.

These Ente plums give birth to our unique Ex Prūnīs Antioxidant Treatment Oil — harvested at optimal ripeness, which provides them with very high contents of antioxidants.

How does this happen since a single tree might bear fruits varying in ripeness?

The producers regularly check the Brix degree of a few plums using a refractometer to monitor the progress of ripening, orchard by orchard, to start the harvest at the right time. Pickers then work in succeeding stages. That is what makes the ordinary, extraordinary!
